Tourney gives teams early look at competition

Floriece “Flo” Hepler Besse, 90, a resident of Morgan City, La., and a native of Biloxi, Miss., died Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Besse was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of Catholic Daughters. An avid golfer, she was a member of the St. Mary Country Club. She was also a member of the MCHS Band Boosters, City of Morgan City Recreation Commission, City Centennial Commission and Haphaestus Mardi Gras Krewe.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Blanchard, Wanda (Wayne) Coleman, Ruth (Calvin) Ortis, Helen (Charlie) Solar, Floriece (Robert) Tisdale, Honorine (Michael) Mier and Charmaine (Michael) Oubre; brother, William Hepler; half-brother, Ronald (Sally) Hepler; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Besse; granddaughter, Angie Mier; grandson, Joseph Siracusa; great-granddaughter, Nicole Price; brother, Warren Hepler; and son-in-law, Carroll Blanchard.
She is buried at the Morgan City Mausoleum.
