Frances Falgout Laurent, 94, a native and resident of Hahnville, La., died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011.

As a loving wife and mother, Mrs. Laurent put her family’s needs before her own and spent her life helping others. She was a gracious woman with strong beliefs who led by example. Frances was involved with the religious education program at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church for 25 years. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, gardening, traveling, history, genealogy and art. As a gardener, she loved sharing her knowledge with everyone and blessed her family with her zest for life.


She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Richard) Arcement and Karen (Rusty) Bradberry; two granddaughters, Angelle Arcement and Lisa (Robert) Wigger; one great-grandson, Cole Laurent Wigger; two granddaugters, Noelle and Claire Bradberry; one grandson, Logan Bradberry; sisters, Melia Starkovich and Vera Cefalu; and brother, Howard Falgout.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Alcide J. Laurent; sisters, Martha Troxler and Denise Desmond; brothers, Clem and Lawrence Falgout; and parents, Desiree and Leston Falgout.

The family would like to thank Mabel Barrilleaux, Shirley Guidry and Tara Messina for their loving care and support.

She is buried at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.
