Francis Dugas Sr., 89, a native of Rayne, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 11 p.m. Tuesday, September 2.

He is survived by one son, Francis “Rocky” Dugas Jr.; two daughters, Bridgett Dugas Harris and Bernadette Frances Dugas; two sisters, Emerite Badeaux and Margaret Long; and six grandchildren, Paul Lefort II, Laurie Hohensee, Nicole Bourgeois, Donovan Schuetter, Dustin Schuetter and Joshua Dugas.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Valentine Bergeron; his parents, Ulysse and Louise Dugas; one grandson, Jacob Dugas; one great-granddaughter, Jada Frances Dugas; four brothers, Irby Dugas, Dr. L.J. Dugas, Col. Mead Dugas and Fred Dugas; and one sister, Gertrude Plaisance.

He was buried at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Cemetery in Thibodaux.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
