Freddie Joseph Griffin Sr., 80, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Cut Off, La., died Tuesday, January 27.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorena Pierce Griffin; sons, Lon Joseph Griffin and wife Liz, Wallace James Griffin and wife Lettie, and Sean John Griffin and wife Rena; brothers, Abraham Griffin, Jarvis Griffin, Ronald Griffin and Cleveland Griffin; sisters, Naise G. Rousse and Laura G. Cheramie; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas Joseph and Sedonia Daigle Griffin; son, Freddie Griffin Jr. and wife Brenda Griffin; grandson, Gabe Griffin; brother, C.J. Griffin; and sisters, Beaulah G. Cheramie and Lois G. Serigny.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, January 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
