Fulton “Pooh” Mitchell Washington III, 38, a native of Morgan City, La., and resident of Gibson, La., died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012.

Mr. Washington earned his master’s degree in school counseling in 2009 from Nicholls State University. He was an educator at St. Mary Parish Alternative School in Franklin, La., B.E. Boudreaux Middle School in Baldwin, La., and was a certified youth counselor until 2010. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and 100 Black Men of St. Mary Parish.


He is survived by his mother, Elaine Washington; sister, Michelle Washington; godmother, Constance Hulbert; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fulton Washington Jr.; grandparents, Fulton Sr. and Mamie Washington and Wellington and Evelyn Diggs.

Burial was at Morgan City Cemetery. (Jones)
