George A. Guidry, 75, a native of Cut Off, La., and resident of Gheens, La., died at 2:20 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2011.


Mr. Guidry was a U.S. Army veteran. He was treasurer of the Vacherie-Gheens Community Center and Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens where he was also a parishioner.


He is survived by his wife, Sherrie Guidry; daughters, Karen (Troy) Dufrene, Angela (Kerry) Falgout and Maria (Ricky) Lee; brother, Walter Jr. (Dolores) Guidry; sister, Vina Plaisance; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr. and Isabel Guidry; sister, Evida Rodrigue; and brother-in-law, Freddie Plaisance.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport, La., and 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with services to follow. Burial will be at Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport. (Falgout)
