George Joseph Papa, 88, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Maynardville, Tenn., died Wednesday, April 2, 2014.
Mr. Papa was a World War II veteran who served with the 42nd Rainbow Infantry Division in France, Germany and Austria. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years of service as a mail carrier.
He is survived by his brothers, Angelo, Nicholas, Louis and Michael; and sister, Rosemary.
Visitation will be 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Thibodaux Funeral Home with services to follow. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Thibodaux)
