George “Brud” “Gorgeous George” Rebstock Jr., 77, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Cut Off, La., died at 1:14 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011.

Mr. Rebstock was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 401. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Korean Service Medal. He worked and retired from Petroleum Helicopters Inc. after 32 years of service. He was an avid family man and parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Golden Meadow.


He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dora Rebstock; sons, Roy (Stacey) and Todd Cheramie; and daughters, Debbie (Daniel Sr.) Pellegrin, Lisa (Ludovic Sr.) Lee; Loretta (Jimmy) Dardar, Rebecca Cheramie, Melisa (Mark Sr.) Potts and Leonore (Kahlil) Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Leonore Rebstock; sister, Dora Doucet; and grandchildren, Leroy Pellegrin and Sherell Mobley.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. A military service will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Samart-Mothe)
