Gerald J. Chenevert Sr., 81, a native of Plaucheville, La., and resident of Napoleonville, La., died at 10:35 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2006.


Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 at Landry’s Funeral Home in Napoleonville and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Olivia Sussman Chenevert; three sons, Thomas and wife, Barbara Ferry, Chenevert of Dover, Ohio, Mathew and wife, Wanda DiMarco, Chenevert of New Orleans, La., and Gerald Jr. and wife, Debbie Moran, Chenevert of Baton Rouge, La.; three daughters, Clare C. and husband, Rodney, Acosta of Baton Rouge, Sue C. and husband, Tommie Aysenne, of Napoleonville, and Elizabeth C. and husband, Michael Stein, of Herndon, Va.; one brother, Raymond Chenevert of Jefferson, La.; 18 grandchildren, Bradford and Jennifer Turney, Komal, Madeline, Gabrielle, Camille, Aaron and Grace Chenevert, John, Christie and Michael Acosta, Aimee Aysenne Montero, Marie, Tommie Jr. and Suzanne Aysenne, and Benjamin, Zachary and Civic Stein; and one great-grandchild, Christian Acosta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Blum Chenevert and Beulah Bordelon Chenevert; one son, Mark Chenevert; one brother, A.B. Chenevert; and one granddaughter, Sophia Chenvert.
