Gerald Nixon Sr., 53, a native of Terrebonne, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday April 4.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Brown Nixon of Houma; mother, Adeline Norman Nixon of Houma; son, Gerald Nixon Jr. of Houma; brothers, Charles Norman and wife Geraldine of New Orleans, La., Floyd Netter and wife Nell of Houma, and Michael Nixon and wife Monique of Houma; and sister, Maxine Nixon Griffin of Houma.
He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac Nixon Sr.; and sister, Earline Nixon Smith.
He was a member of Residence Baptist Church and was retired from the Terrebonne Parish School Board.
Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, April 10, at Residence Baptist Church. A religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial at Mechanicville Emanuel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
