Police issues hit close to home

Gerald John “Hambone” Pitre, 73, a native and resident of Montegut, La., died on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.
Mr. Pitre was a retired, self-employed welder who enjoyed his work the people he met. He was a dedicated usher at Sacred Heart Church and loved dancing, bike-riding, volleyball, gardening, baking and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Arlene Stoufflet; sons, Micky (Jennifer) and Ron (Erin) Pitre; daughter, Nicole (Chris) Ruiz; sister, Mona Stoufflet; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Bernard) Fick; and eight grandchildren.
Burial is at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Montegut.
