Gerald “Big Red” Taylor, Sr., 49, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, August 20, 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Marice C. Taylor; one son, Gerald Taylor, Jr.; LaTonya Neville and her husband Alex, China, and Kerna Taylor; one brother, Eddie Taylor, Jr. and his wife Natalie; four sisters, Lorraine Williams, Bernadette Taylor, Bertha Davis and her husband Morris, and Tammy Harris and her husband Eric; and one grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Naomi Taylor, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Hayes and Thelma Green Taylor; and his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Bertha Bolder, Sr.

Gerald was a devout Baptist and a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.

Visitation is Saturday, August 25, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Community Funeral Home in Houma. He will be buried in Southdown Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
