Local troops brace for life away from home
January 6, 2010Geraldine W. Southall, 83, a native of Edgard, La., and resident of Belle Rose, La., died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009.
Mrs. Southall was a homemaker.
She is survived by her stepson, Amos Southall Jr.; stepdaughters, Shannon McGhee and Vanessa Jenkins; sisters, Celeste Jackson, Cecile Rapheal, Aldora Smith and Selina Bennett; brothers, Ernest, Oiley, Oscar and Matthew Bennett; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Southall Sr.; her parents; four sisters; and four brothers.
She is buried at Greater Israel Baptist Church Cemetery in Belle Rose.
Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of arrangements.
