Gertrude Lecompte Colomb, 94, a native of Houma and resident of Paradis, died at 7:10 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006.


Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis. Mass will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.


She is survived by one son, Homer “Pee Wee” Colomb and wife, Lydia; four daughters, Elizabeth Messmer and husband, James, Julia Schexnayder, Rosemary Champagne and husband, Ronald, and Lilly Munson; one brother, Warren Lecompte and wife, Ruby; one daughter-in-law, Cunnie Colomb; 39 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; and five great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Colomb; her parents, Augustin and Arcade Toups Lecompte; three sons, Valex “Buddy” Colomb, Warren Colomb and Patrick Colomb; two daughters, Regina Benoit Rodrigue and Genevieve Colomb; one brother, Evans Lecompte; and one sister, Rachael Babin.

In lieu of flowers, send donations to St. Joseph Hospice.
