Gilbert “Gilbo” Mark Porche, 58, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010.


Mr. Porche was a member of Unity Lodge #267, The Scottish Rite, and Jerusalem Temple in New Orleans, La. He was past president of the Houma Shrine Club and past Captain of the Houma motorcycle escort unit. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Landry Porche; sons, Gilbert II “Buster” (Sarah) and Terry “Digger” (Naomi Voisin) Porche; daughter, Tammy (Timothy Pulley) Porche; nine grandchildren, Harlie, Camryn, Karlie, William, Darcie, Mara, Landon “Pete,” Georgiana and Colton; sisters, Darlene Bergeron and Faith Boudreaux; and uncle, Earl (Morine) Savoie.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey John “Pete” and Georgia Savoie Porche; grandparents, Gabriel Joseph and Gracious Martin Savoie, and Robert and Marie Hebert Porche; sister, Pomela Porche; and brother, Dewey John “Sonny” Porche Jr.

He is buried at Matherne Cemetery.
