Gladys Ray Short, 72, a native of Houma, La. and a resident of Gibson, La., died Thursday, May 3, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beaulah Baptist Church in Gibson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Andrew Short Sr.; her son, Lee Andrew Short Jr.; her brother, Sylvester Ray Sr.; her sister, Nettie R. Trahan; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leola and Leonard Ray Sr.; her brothers, Leonard Ray Jr., Thomas Ray Sr., James Ray Sr. and Joseph Ray; and her sisters, Josephine McGuire, Bertha Johnson, Marian Mitchell and Classie Mae Navy.
She was a baptist and a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
She was a retired cook at Vandebilt Catholic High School.
