Gloria Lee Simmons VanBuren, 67, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Montegut, La., died Monday, March 23.
She is survived by her husband, Antoine P. VanBuren Sr.; son, Antoine P. VanBuren Jr.; daughters, Lydia VanBuren and Antoinette VanBuren-Williams; brothers, Benjamin Simmons Sr. and Daniel Simmons Sr.; sisters, Dorothy Ross and Helena Simmons; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Helena Taylor Simmons; brothers, Albert Simmons Sr. and Henry Simmons Sr.; and sisters, Mary S. VanBuren, Rosadel Frye and Diane Simmons.
She was member of St. Peter Baptist Church and a retired dietician at Chabert Medical Center.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Community Funeral Home. The funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at St. Peter Baptist Church in Montegut with burial at Southdown Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
