Glyn Meranto, a resident of Morgan City born in New Orleans March 30, 1950, passed away August 22, 2006 in Patterson, Louisiana, at the age of 56.


Glyn was a master carpenter and was the owner of Meranto’s Carpentry. He was well known and and his skills were highly sought after. Glyn was also a wood carver and leaves behind a treasure of wood duck carving that will be passed down for many generations to come.

Glyn is survived by his wife of 35 loving years, Lois Sauce Meranto; one son, Glyn “Gabe” Meranto II of Altus, Okla.; two daughters, Jessica Meranto of Morgan City and Jani and her husband Tony Serio of Bossier City; three brothers, Jerry Meranto of Berwick, Louis Meranto of Ga. and Michael Meranto of Winnfield; three sisters, Beverly Ortiz of Miss., Peggy Lacour of Alexandria and Linda Meranto; and a granddaughter, Emma Camferdam of Bossier City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Florence Duval Clements; one son, Gabriel Meranto, and two brothers Anthony and Marshal Meranto.

Visitation will be held at Pharr Chapel in Morgan City Saturday, October 28, 2006 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at Pharr Chapel. Hargrave Funeral Home has been placed in charge of the arrangements.
