Hattie Lee Smith, 51, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, June 16.


She is survived by her husband, Gerald L. Smith Sr. of Thibodaux; daughters, Gerica Smith and husband Michael of Houma, La., and Gervon Smith of Thibodaux; sons, Gerald Smith Jr. and Germal Smith both of Thibodaux; and six grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Estelle and Jesse Brown Sr.; brother, Jesse “Pete” Brown Jr.; grandparents, Isaiah and Julia A. VanBuren and Elitha and Joseph G. Brown.

She was a parishioner of St. Luke Catholic Church. Her hobbies included cooking and babysitting.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday June 21, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke Catholic Church in Thibodaux. She will be buried at Moses Baptist Church Cemetery in Thibodaux.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
