Hazel Valerie Samanie Darcey, 84, a native of Bayou Blue, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, April 4, 2011.
Mrs. Darcey was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Glenn (Sandy) Darcey; daughters, Janice (Randy) Daigle, Ann (Carl) Eschete, Judith (Rob) Seale, Gale (Ronald) Blanchard and Enola (Steve) Nussmeyer; sisters, Gloria Naquin, Evadence Boudreaux and Oris Maronge; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Colden Adolphe Darcey; parents, Adney and Ernestine Valerie Hebert Samanie; great-great-grandson, Deantae Colden Rines; brothers, Norris, Alton and Enest “Fatso” Samanie; sisters, Myrtle Ledet, Bridgette Babin, Mildred LeBlanc and Lena Daigle.
She is buried at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
