Hazel F. Verret, 86, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Amelia, La., died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.
Mrs. Verret enjoyed fishing, sewing, raising chickens and Doxin puppies. She was a good cook and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Bayou Chene Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 35 years.
She is survived by her children, Everett Jr. (Diane), Ernest (Cindy) and Joseph (Joan) Verret and Susan (Joey) Foret; brothers, Stanley and Edward Foret; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Louise Foret; husband, Everett Verret Sr.; son, Curtis Verret; brothers, Roosevelt, Elward and Walter Foret; and two infant brothers.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Twin City Funeral Home with services to follow. Burial will be at Morgan City Cemetery. (Twin City)
