May 6, 2010Hazel Marie Hernandez Cormier, a native of Carencro, La., and a resident of Amelia, La., died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Morgan City Health Care.
Mrs. Cormier was Catholic. She enjoyed cooking – especially gumbos, working in her yard, music and dancing. She loved a good joke – listening to or telling one, and cheering for the Atlanta Braves. As a child, she picked cotton and potatoes and, later, instilled good work ethics and respectfulness of others in her children.
She is survived by her son, Hayward Joseph Cormier; daughter, Elaine (William) Hulin; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Cormier is buried at St. Peter Church Cemetery in Carencro.
