Helen Freeman Smith, 95, a native of Bayou Dularge, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, April 5, 2011.
She is survived by her sons, James, Robert, John and Terry Smith; daughters, Betty Newton and Judy Lawson; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Smith; parents, Ernest and Felice Guidry Freeman; one son, Jerry Smith; four brothers, Armand, Ernest and Paul Freeman and Peter Chauvin; and six sisters, Miriam Norris, Mae Theriot, Theresa Malbry, Inez Ledet, Grace Naquin and Leonise Olivier.
