Henry Jacob Forrest, 90, a native of Johnston, S.C., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died of heart failure at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday, September 16.


He is survived by two sons, H. Miles Forrest and wife Christine of Houma, La., and G.

Martin Forrest and wife Denise of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, William Rhodes Forrest of Murrells Inlet, S.C; two grandchildren, Christian Miles Forrest and wife Suzanne of Birmingham, Al., and Rae Katherine Forrest Baker and husband J. Payne Baker Jr. of Birmingham; one great-grandchild, Ethan Miles Forrest of Birmingham; and three step-grandchildren, Dustin Loveless and Bradley Loveless of Baton Rouge and Jamie Loveless Eversole and husband Brent of Las Vegas, Nv.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Edna Miles; his parents, Guy Ernest Forrest Sr. and Leta Elvira Carson; his stepmother, Evelyn Rhodes; one brother, Guy Ernest Forrest; and two sisters, Josephine Carolyn Pond and Rae Elizabeth Kibler.


He worked for Sun Oil Company for 40 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Thibodaux.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, September 19, at Landry’s Funeral Home in Thibodaux and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, September 20, at First Presbyterian Church in Thibodaux. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. John’s

Episcopal Cemetery in Thibodaux.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
