Henry P. “Tweet” Dufrene, 78, a native of Westwego, La., and a resident of Larose, La., died Wednesday, September 10.


He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillie Bert Theriot Dufrene; sons, Kenneth J. Dufrene and wife Loretta H. Dufrene, and Hank A. Dufrene and wife Kathy M. Dufrene; daughters, Mona Dufrene, Donna Dufrene Gaudet and husband Julien, and Mary Thompson and husband Bob; brother, Chester Dufrene and wife Leona; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Cesla Gros Dufrene; and brother, Roland Dufrene.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and retired from Exxon after 45 years of service. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. He was a caring husband and father.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, September 15, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with mass to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
