Houston J. “Nanoon” Armond, 85, a native of Dularg, La. and resident of Houma, La. died Saturday, December 8, 2007, at 9:15 p.m.


He is survived by four daughters, Shirlene A. Blocker, Bernadette “Wootsie” A. Dome, Susan A. Gregory, and Tammy A. Dupre; one brother, Whitney Armond; one sister, Mary Alice Armond Swafford; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley LeBouef Armond; his parents, Whitney and Alice Fanguy Armond; two sons, Houston Armond, Jr. and Noel J. Armond; three brothers, Easton, Alex, and Bruce Armond; and one grandchild.

Houston was employed as a foreman for Houma Gas Co. and was a United States Coast Guard veteran.

Visitation is Monday, December 10, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 11, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. He will be buried in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Houma.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.

Houston Armond
