Hubert Paul Champagne, 92, a native and resident of Lockport, La., died at 2: 20 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010.


Mr. Hubert was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church. He retired from Louisiana Power and Light Company after 40 years of service and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 38, a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII, and a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was an avid fisherman, great baseball player and he loved playing card games with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Della Champagne, son, Michael (Dianne) Champagne; daughters, Sandra (John) Robichaux, Suzanne (Kevin) Gaubert and Patricia Champagne; brothers, Patrick and Richard Champagne; sisters, Vivian Dolan, Marie Bergeron, Sister Marguerite Champagne and Helen Gautreaux; five grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Emelienne Richard Champagne; brothers, Robert, Rev. Rene’ and John Champagne; and sisters, Lucille LeBlanc and Rita Creswell.

He is interred at Holy Savior Catholic Church Mausoleum.
