Ida Williams Griffith, 97, a native of Sugartown, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, March 29, 2011.
She is survived by her son, Claude “Fred” (Annette) Griffith Jr.; brother, Leonard Cassie “Buck” Williams; five grandchildren, David (Cheryl) Giroir, Jan (Henry Jr.) Breaux, Kelli Brown, Jennifer (Wendell) Guidry and Kaci (Charles) Brown; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Frederick Griffith Sr.; parents, Cassie and Emma Sanders Williams; daughters, Karen Giroir and Mary Gale Griffith; nine siblings, Alfred, Viola, Helen, Clyde, Leona and Leon Williams, Thelma Cantrell, Delma Carpenter and Velma Harper; grandson, Jason Giroir; and great-granddaughter, Katie Rose Simon.
She is buried at Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery in Grant, La. (Falgout)
