Sheriff’s ranges give public a new target
March 11, 2010Inez Marie Luke Voisin, 81, a native of Grand Caillou, La., and a resident of Dulac, La., died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010.
Mrs. Voisin was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. A retired school cook for the Terrebonne Parish School District, she was a member of Post 4652 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies Altar Society, St. Joseph Altar Society, Knights of Columbus and the Bayou Boullette Carnival Club, having served as the group’s first queen.
She is survived by sons, Addie Jr. (Barbara), Royce (Brenda) and Jerry (fiancée Judy Bader) Voisin; daughters, Linda Clair Chatagnier, Mary Janice Voisin, Benda (Al) Chauvin and Melody (Warren) Billiot; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Addie Joseph Voisin Sr.; parents, Sylvester and Eloise LeCompte Luke; daughter, Adeline Marie Voisin; sons-in-law, Glynn Anthony Pellegrin and Jessie Chatagnier Sr.; two grandchildren, Tanya Voisin and Madina Chatagnier; one great-grandchild, Angel Duplantis; brother, Travis Luke; and sisters, Elvira, Cecile and Vivian Luke.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Chauvin Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Holy Family Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the church.
She will be buried at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery.
