Irene Rose Rutledge, 81, a native of London, England and resident of Gibson, La., died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011.
Ms. Rutledge was a veteran of the Womens Royal Army Corp and a retired R.N. She loved her nursing career and felt both privileged and humbled to take care of the sick. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Rutledge; sister, Mary Winterton; brother, George Rose; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Mary Rose; son, John Rutledge Jr.; former husband, John Rutledge Sr.; brothers, Frederick Jr. and John Rose; and sisters, Lily Whymark, June Candler, Jennifer Bowman and Alice Martell. (Hargrave)
