Isabel Guidry Plaisance, 87, a native of Marrero, La., and a resident of Raceland, La., died Monday, Oct. 19, at 9:13 p.m.


She is survived by two sons, Wade F. Plaisance and James G. Plaisance; two daughters, Judy P. Baye and Donna P. Eymard; three sisters, Doris Dufrene, Vella Knight and Betty Breaux; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Plaisance; parents, Hypolite Guidry Sr. and Laura Babin Guidry; one son, Mark Anthony Plaisance; two brothers, Cecil Guidry and Hypolite Guidry Jr.; and one sister, Rene Allemand.

She was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland. She was a member of the St. Anne Ladies Auxiliary for 35 years and a volunteer at Raceland Manor Nursing Home.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at St. Hilary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.

Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.

Isabel Guidry Plaisance
