Local troops brace for life away from home

Ivy Kern Adams, 77, a native of New Orleans, La., and a longtime resident of Bayou Vista, La., died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, in Berwick.
Mrs. Adams was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping, LSU, cooking and dancing.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Rebecca), Kevin (Donna), Tami (Steve) Robichaux, Teri (Mike) Luke; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Emile J Adams; infant son, Kippy Michael Adams; parents, Louis and Gladys Legendre Kern; and brother, Donald Kern, Sr.
She is buried at the St. Bridget Mausoleum in Schriever, La.
