Luncheon to recognize area’s foster parents; More adults needed to provide homes to youths

Izetta Taylor Thomas, 84, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Tuesday, May 8, 2007.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.


She is survived by three sons, Lionel Adams Sr. and Martin Thomas of Thibodaux and Leonard Thomas Sr. of Baton Rouge, La.; four daughters, Richardean H. Washington, Martha T. Thomas and Linda A. Thomas of Thibodaux and Yevette T. Henderson of Arlington, Tx.; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Thomas Sr.; her parents, Martha and Edward Taylor; two sons, Rufus Thomas Jr. and James Thomas; two daughters, Delores H. Davis and Lois T. Jackson; and two brothers, Edward Taylor and Jeff Taylor.

She served on the usher board and was a member of the Pastor Aide Club at Moses Baptist Church.

Kennedy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
