J.B. Howard “Frog” Parfait, 72, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La. and resident of Dulac, LA., died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006.

Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.


He is survived by his wife, Marie Ella Solet Parfait of Dulac; six sons, Howard Parfait and wife, Dotti, Merlin Parfait and wife, Cristy, of Houma, LA., John Kevin Parfait of Dulac, Raymond Parfait and wife, Tanya, Julian Parfait and wife, Shelly, and Adrian Parfait and wife, Autumn, of Houma; five daughters, Ramona Gregoire and husband, Norman, of Bayou Blue, LA., Carolyn Dion and husband, Clyde, of Houma, Mary “Lanny” Luke and husband, Ennis, of Dulac, Marilyn “Doy” Champagne of Bayou Blue and Miranda Jeblonski and husband, Joseph, of Houma; two brothers, Paul Kirby Parfait and Harrison “Sonny” Parfait of Houma; three sisters, Rita Mae Lodrigue, Eva Naquin and Mary Libby Parfait of Dulac; 30 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Oleus Parfait and Juliene Verdin Parfait; one son, Steven Jerome Parfait; two brothers, Joseph Henry “Took” Parfait and John Abbey Parfait; and one sister, Mary Lillian Foret.

He was a self-employed commercial fisherman and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.
