Jacqueline Cecile Boquet Chauvin, 85, a native of Westwego, La., and a lifelong resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, April 19, 2011.


“Mom” as she was affectionately called by her loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the consummate caregiver and heart of her family. She was happiest when she was cooking, baking or making her delicious pralines for her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the world to her. Mom will always be remembered for her gentle ways and loving smile. She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Alter Society. Mom will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.


She is survived by her daughters, Christine (David) Daigneault and Susan Ensley; three sons, Jerome (Barbara), Jonathan (Debra) and Kenneth (Terri) Chauvin; sister, Beverly Boquet Callahan; 11 grandchildren, Benjamin and Allison Daigneault, Alanna, Adam, Jude and Amie Chauvin, Krista Ellingson, Michelle Rogers, Amanda Christine, Thomas Bryan and Jessica Leigh Ensley; four great-grandchildren, Isabella Chauvin, Christian Ensley, Colston Rogers and Graham Ellingson; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Celestine Ann Walker Boquet; sister, Myra Boquet McJimsey; two brothers, Robert and Rudolph Boquet; and her husband, Raymond Paul Chauvin.

She is interred at Holy Rosary Cemetery. (Chauvin)
