James Dale Carter, 75, a native of Lake Providence, La., and resident of Bourg, La., died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010.


Mr. Carter was employed with Chevron Oil Company. He loved going to his fishing camp in Toledo Bend.

He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Mark Houston), Lisa (Chris Cavalier), Theresa, James Jr. (Tammie Celotti) and Keri Carter, and Patrick Miner, Daniel Dusenbery, and two cats, T- Boy and Miley; 18 grandchildren, Kyle Carter, Matthew and Danielle Thibodeaux, Basil and Christy Cavalier, Lucus Bergeron, Beau, Elliot, Greta and Anne Dusenbery, Kelly, James III and Miles Carter, Claudia and Ashley Petrone, April Maddox, Terry and Michelle Stephenson; eight great-grandchildren, Piper and Maddox Thibodeaux, Lexi and Haiden Stephenson, and Abbigale, Meagan, Nicholas and Elaina Dusenbery; and sister, Esther Carolyn Mai.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Anne Biggs Carter; parents, Van William and Martha Indiann Stapleton Carter; brothers, William, Robert and Joseph Carter; sisters, Edna Hawthorne, Ethel Heard, Edith Carter, Ella Mae Barnes, Earnie Bell McWilliams, Eloise White, Evelyn Carter and Sally Jane White; daughter, Patricia Gayle Dusenbery; grandson, David Richard Grove Jr.; two dogs, Cindy and Missy; and three cats, Katis, George and Miss Kitty.

He is buried at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
