May 17, 2012James Shields Sr., 74, a native of Sorrell, La., and resident of Port Arthur, Texas, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012.
Mr. Shields was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Morton Salt Company after 39 years of service.
He is survived by his daughters Patricia (Henry) Smith and Sheila Shields; son, Kenneth (Keisha) Shields; sisters, Viola (Clarence) Rhine and Margie (Robert) Mitchell; brothers, Millie and Edward (Sherry) Shields; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling and Sydonia Shields; wife, Janell Shields; son, James Shields Jr.; sister, Shirley Sims; and brothers, Earnest Sr., Sterling Jr. and George Shields.
Burial was at Sorrell Community Cemetery. (Jones)
