James Malvin Verdin, 73, a native and resident of Dulac, La., died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at 4:37 p.m.


He is survived by his wife, Francis “Dell” Fitch, one son, Anthony Fitch; two daughters, Betty Lou Jarvis and Clara Verdin; two brothers, Paul Larry Verdin and Peter James Verdin; one sister, Geraldine Verdin; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph McKinley Verdin and Juanita Foret Verdin; one son, Calvin Peter Verdin; three brothers, Joseph “Mac” Verdin, Anthony Verdin and John Morris Verdin; and two sisters, Silver Jean Verdin and Mae G. Verdin.

James was buried Friday, January 4, 2008, at the Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery in Dulac, La.

Smart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
