Jaquan O’Neal Veal, 17, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, in Baytown, Texas, of heart complications.


Jaquan was a member of In Living Word and Hope Extreme. He attended H.L. Bourgeois and South Terrebonne high schools.


He is survived by his parents, Cheryl Veal and Ronald Williams; brothers, Akeem Veal, Leon Robinson, Ron Stewart, Jerard Williams, Ron Scott, Corey, Greg, Jacoby and Travis DeVille, Ronald Wynn Celestine and Kevin Coates; sisters, Renee Veal, Tedra Stewart, Sarah Lighttell and Jasmin Allen.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricia C. Veal, George and Rosa Lee Williams, and Leon and Gail Veal; and sister, Schwann DeVille.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Living Word Church. His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

Jaquin will be buried at Dewyville Cemetery.
