Local troops brace for life away from home
January 6, 2010Jay Logan Martin, 56, a native of Alton, Ill., and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at 6:20 a.m. at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, La.
Mr. Martin was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church. After receiving a degree from Texas A&M University, he spent 34 years in the maritime industry.
He is survived by his wife, Burney Martin; sons, Jonathan and William Martin; mother, Elizabeth James Martin; brother James (Deborah) Martin; one niece; three nephews; one mother-in-law; and one brother-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Jay Martin.
Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
