Jerry Foret

Jerry “Dixon” Anthony Foret, 51, a native of Houma, LA. and resident of Bayou Blue, LA., died at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007.

Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial in Rogers Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Buquet Foret of Bayou Blue; his father, Rennel John Foret of Bayou Blue; his mother, Eddress Rogers Foret of Bayou Blue; one son, Derek “Chopper” Anthony Foret of Houma; one daughter, Mindy “Pumpkin” Lee Foret of Houma; one stepson, Nelson Ray Funk of Houma; two brothers, Rory Foret of Georgia and Burt Foret of Houma; three sisters, Nina Foret Eschete and husband, Louis “Bo” Eschete, Gwen Daigle and Lori Darcey of Houma; one godchild, Beau Eschete; his former wife, June Badeaux; and his former son-in-law, Charles Badeaux and wife, Carolyn.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eusebe Rogers and Clemellia Gaubert Rogers; his paternal grandparents, Elton Foret Sr. and Velma Boyer Foret; one brother-in-law, A.J. Daigle; one sister-in-law, Stephanie Warden Foret; and one nephew, Justin Daigle.

He was a welder with K & B Machines Works for 30 years and a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
