Jerry Joseph Thibodaux, 69, a native and resident of Choctaw, La., died Saturday, Feb. 16.


He is survived by his wife, Anita Mae Tabor Thibodaux; son, Jason Thibodaux of Choctaw; daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Donna) Becnel of Vacherie, La., Mrs. Roland (Cheryl) Pitre of Choctaw, Mrs. Bruce (Amanda “Nook”) Molaison of Choctaw, Mrs. Ronnie (Greta “Pie”) Rose of Monroe, La., Mrs. Donald (Danelle “Grumpy”) Zuvich Jr. of Belle Chasse, La. and Mrs. Troy (Janelle “Pokey”) Ordoyne of Choctaw; brothers, Dempster and Douglas Thibodaux; sisters, Nellie Benoit and Sheldon Sanchez; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Thibodaux and Annette Tabor Thibodaux; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ordoyne; and sister, Rita Morrison.


He was retired as vice president of Acy’s Explorations out of Bayou Blue where he worked for 38 years.

Thibodaux’s pallbearers will be his son and six sons-in-law.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Thibodaux Funeral Home Chapel followed by mass at St. James Catholic Church in Choctaw. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
