Jimmie J. Toups, 69, a native and resident of Galliano, LA., died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007.


Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, LA.. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.


He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanne D. Toups; his stepfather, Raleigh Guilbeau; one son, Jeff J. Toups Sr. and wife, Karen; two daughters, Anna Marie Bernard and Mary T. Perez and husband, Todd; one brother, Robert Toups; two sisters, Beverly Cheramie and Carol Cheramie; and five grandchildren, Joshua Perez, Jeff Toups Jr., Mark Perez, Tommy Perez and Juliann Toups.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Clovis Toups and Andrea Toups; his mother, Enolia Guilbeau; and one son, Jimmie Toups Jr.

He was a shrimper on the Lady Joanne and was a member of L & A Hunting Club in Bankston, Ala. He was a man of many talents.

He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
