JoAnn “Jo” Banks, 47, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, August 16, 2007.

She is survived by her three daughters, Fredericka, April, and Nicole Banks; four brothers, Frederick Banks and his wife Regina, Larry Banks and his wife Victoria, Francis Banks and his wife Pamela, and Kevin Banks; and three sisters, Molva Lyles, Maryland Jones and her husband Jimmy, and Toneka Beo.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Maryann Westley Banks.

JoAnn was a devout Baptist and a member of Dularg Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher who loved to work with children. She enjoyed reading her bible and giving thoughtful advice. She was an employee of the Terrebonne Parish School Board.

Visitation is Saturday, August 25, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Dularg Community Baptist Church. She will be buried in Dularg Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
