Joe Robert Parker Sr., 66, a native of Poplarville, Miss. and a resident of Houma, La., died on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015.
Mr. Parker was a member of the Village East Fire Department, where he was named “Rookie of the Year.” He was a member of the Chauvin Lions Club and a charter member of the T-Caillou Lions Club, where he recieved the Melvin Jones Award. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars and carpentary.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Lirette Parker; sons, Joe (Wanda) Ledet Jr., Bruce and Lance Parker Sr., four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Edna Merritt Parker Page; and sisters, Cora Crosby and Jane Austin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samart Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
