July 14, 2010Joel J. Champagne, 81, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 3 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010.
He is survived by his children, Don, Brian and Brad Champagne; daughter, Joellyn Champagne; brother, Alcide “A.J.” Champagne Jr.; sister, Maude Matherne; and five grandchildren, Brooke, Marcy, Zachary, Jade and Christian Champagne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Lou Cortez Champagne; parents, Alcide Sr. and Hedwige Folse Champagne; one brother, Milton Champagne; and one sister, Doris Cheramie.
He is buried at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Cemetery.
