August 14, 2010John “June” L. Gasery Jr., 72, a native of Houma, La., and a long-time resident of Slidell, died at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010.
Mr. Gasery was a retired U.S. Air Force captain, Vietnam veteran, and retired Chief Operations Officer for NASA/Stennis Space Center in Biloxi, Miss.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Gasery; daughters, Roslyn Gasery and Tammy Flot; son, Scott Laurent; brothers, Percy Sr., Earl, Preston and Lawrence Gassery; sisters, Annie Mae Norman, Cheryl Gasery and Elmira King; godmother, Mildred Brown; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Lillie Brown Gasery; first wife, Gloria Lagarde Gasery; son, John Larry Gasery III; daughters, Melanie R. Anderson and Carla Patrice Gasery; granddaughter, Danielle Anderson; two brothers, Lester and William Gasery; two sisters, Ella Louise Tardieff and Daisy Small; grandparents, Eddie and Louise Brown, and Walter and Daisy Gasery.
He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
