John “Johnny” Joseph Hutchinson, 86, a native of Bourg, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 5:35 p.m. Sunday, September 21.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Delma Naquin Hutchinson of Houma; two sons, Ray Hutchinson and wife Donna of Houma, and John Hutchinson Jr. and wife Allyson of Spring, Tx.; three daughters, Clara Henry and husband Dana of Denton, Tx., Connie Hutchinson of Kenner, La., and Cheri LeBlanc and husband Joseph of Baton Rouge, La.; numerous brothers; numerous sisters; 10 grandchildren, Bradley Hutchinson, Byron Hutchinson, Christopher Henry, Samantha Knowles, Katherine Francesconi, Phillip LeBlanc, Heather LeBlanc, Lauren Hutchinson, Madelyn Hutchinson and Ryan Hutchinson; and one great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney Hutchinson and Clara DeRoche Hutchinson; one daughter, Cindy Hannah; and numerous brothers and sisters.
He was a retired glass repairman with Hutch Trim and Glass. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, including the D-Day part of the Normandy Beach invasion which stormed the Maginot line in France. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with mass to follow. He will be buried at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.
