Local troops brace for life away from home
January 6, 2010John “J.R.” Roy Manning, 51, a native of Pontiac, Mich., and resident of Morgan City, La., died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009.
He is survived by his mother, Vera Bergman; son, Joshua A. Manning; daughter, Sierra Manning; sisters, Connie Foss and Sue Boatright; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Ray Manning.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
