January 30, 2012John Paul Collins, 56, a native of White Castle, La., and resident of Bayou Blue, La., died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012.
Mr. Collins was a U.S. Army veteran and an independent oilfield consultant. He enjoyed riding horses and was a member of the Louisiana Cutting Horse Association. He was Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Collins; sons, Jason (Renee’) Collins and Jonah (Samantha) Potter; daughters, Courtney (Olin) Wiggins and Phalon Collins; brothers, Philip (Cindy), Harold and James Collins; sister, Toni (David) Cunningham; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Collins.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Samart Funeral Home in Houma, La., with services to follow. (Samart)
